| Our
founder, Falk |
| Levine,
opened a shoe |
| factory
in middletown, NY |
| in
1932 to broaden the |
| line
of sandals and |
| slippers
then made in |
| the
late 1920's always having |
| the
finest quality, styles, |
| and
value in the market. |
| our
extensive stock |
| program
has been the |
| cornerstone
of our |
| business
for decades. |
 |
 |
|
 |
 |
| In
the early 1930's we |
| were
among the first to |
| make
sandals, which was |
| quite
a departure from |
| the
usual closed shoes |
| women
wore for centuries. |
 |
| We
have made mules |
| since
the mid 1930's |
| when
our founder |
| decided
to remove the |
| backs
from slippers. he |
| called
them mules, which |
| is
an adaptation of the |
| French
word for slippers, |
| mulette. |
|
| |
 |
| Evening
shoes entered our |
| our
collection during the mid |
| 1940's
when Jacques |
| Levine
joined his father in |
| the
business. This created |
| a
new area for expansion |
| after
the war. It was in the |
| late
1940's that the |
| Jacques
Levine brand |
| made
its first appearance. |
 |
| Jacques
started the import |
| business
in 1969 and |
| created
our now world |
| famous
soft kidskin |
| slippers
from Spain. In |
| 1971,
Harold Levine |
| returned
to join his father |
| representing
the third |
| generation
in the family |
| business.
The business |
| expanded
to include |
| casuals
and espadrilles. |
|
|
| All through our history we |
| have recognized the |
| responsibility we have to |
| you, the consumer, to |
| provide the best possible |
| merchandise. We realize we |
| must continue to create |
| footwear that looks |
| and feels great. This is an |
| ongoing and exciting |
| challenge. |
 |
 |
| We look forward to serving |
| your needs for many years |
| to come. |
 |
| Again, thank you for your |
| interest, in |
